Welcome to my corner of the web.
Why Amy Artisan? When trying to decide what URL to claim as mine I wanted to choose something that encompassed lots of the things that make me “Me!” Looking at the definition for artisan it seemed to fit. I started this blog in January 2006 as a way to reinvigorate my knitting and also as a place to share other things that are a part of my world.

who practices some trade A lot of my time is spent on my trade - working as a business transformation consultant for a Chicago based business consulting & IT solutions firm.
or handicraft When I’m not busy at work on my trade I enjoy many handicrafts, primarily knitting, scrapbooking and cooking.
I envision that this blog will be the outlet for the “handicraft” side of Amy Artisan. It may also include some of my favorites/recommendations that friends always ask about…and who knows what else.
