Moldova 2007 -- We were able to go into downtown Chisinau a few times. Signs of Moldova's communist past were everywhere. The local artists' market had busts of Lenin and all sorts of communist paraphenalia for sale. It was interesting but I couldn't quite bring myself to buy any of it...maybe because I was one of the few people on the trip old enough to remember the Cold War!
