I realized that could be taken the wrong way. When I say creating life, I don't mean in the literal sense of creating babies, but the spirit of creating meaningful life experiences. The way we move through the world is creating life-our own- and our interactions with others help shape their lives as well. It's never so heightened as during the Holiday Season.

Amy, I love the way you share your love for your family and holidays full of tradition and closeness. I'm enjoying pondering what is important to me and how I would like my new baby to experience her family and holidays. Creating life and love is really what it's all about.

I am a fan of enjoying the spirit of the holiday (any one, actually). I am glad your Thanksgiving was so great, but it sounds like you are really looking forward to Christmas (as am I!)!

Sounds like you have a lot of wonderful traditions with your family despite the fact you have to fly to see them. Hopefully you got the flight cancellation thing over with now, so Christmas will be no problem.

Living in the city during Christmas time must be fun with all the lights and things to do!

Just to clarify, I meant Jim's aunt and uncle's kids and grandkids. Jim and/or I have no kids or grandkids! LOL.

Thanksgiving is definitely a state of mind for me as well. My intention is to try to keep that mindset throughout the year and not let it go.

Love the comment about the only tradition being untraditional - sounds like something Jim or I would say! We went out for sushi on the night before Thanksgiving as almost our own private celebration, then did the (pretty traditional) thing with Jim's aunt and uncle, kids and grandkids. It was pretty great. We always go around the table and say what we're thankful for each year - this is his cousin's tradition, but now her daughter McKenna was tasked with the same assignment by her preschool teacher. Funny to see it passed down to another generation!
