My mom is a quilter who deals w/ the same issues about selling her creations. People often ask her if she'll make a quilt on commission and can she use these exact fabrics and this exact pattern? That takes all of the creativity, and thus fun, out of quilting so she says no. On the other hand, she wouldn't mind creating quilts for the pleasure of creating them and then selling them like a painter would sell her picture. If someone likes it, they could buy it. But it would only be a few, here and there. She wants to be able to make quilts for her growing family.

For me with knitting, I knit too slow to even contemplate selling anything! I have so many projects I want to do for myself right now (and a few gifts, too). There would be no time to sell anything.

Well, you know I mix my love of album making with a "side business" as a Creative Memories consultant - I love having access to so many things that excite me! I'm committed to keeping up with my own albums - otherwise, I cannot imagine it would be worth the effort. The knitting you've taught me (thank you!) provides the perfect additional creative activity.

The little M's are too precious. Speaking of Miss Butterfly, CM has some really cute butterfly stickers coming out May 1st. Oh and this really adorable journaling box with butterflies on it too. Its apart of a new kids pack, but I'm gonna use them for lots of things.

I have had many people tell me I should make shawls for local boutiques to sell (if they even would) and it doesn't sound fun to me at all. I like to knit what I want to knit when I want to knit it be it for me, family, or a gift. I don't want to have to knit something. I've done scrapbooks as gifts as well. Those tend to be a little less enjoyable than when I'm working on my own. Love the pictures from the arboretum.
